We are ready to reveal some of the secrets behind our prototype vehicle a.k.a "Yamaha Twin Engines Project".

    Until mid-'90 the most appreciated vehicle in the all-terrain rally races was the Suzuki Vitara due to its good handling and the optimal power to weight ratio. But the Vitara's characteristics doesn't fully dominate the CIFV Championship (Campionato Italiano Velocità Fuoristrade). The Vitara models were considered too fragile for the type of terrain choosen by the organisators of the italian most relevant off-road competitive specialty.

It is here that comes out Roberto Menghini, motor enthusiast from a young age and having partecipated in various editions of endurance races, he dedicated his efforts and knowledge to the preparation of a Vitara for the A section of the CIFV (class A2) that could dominate and win this race. 

    In his first attempt Roberto Menghini constructed a vehicle starting from the original Vitara's engine of 4 cylinders, 1590cc with 2 valves per cylinder, preserving all the original components but supercharging it with the adoption of a turbocharger, adding a special manifold and an intercooler. The original engine's head was adjusted to fit the multi-point injection preserving the original intake manifold. The electronic control unit was totally rebuild, making it a diamond in the new Vitara. Whith some componet adjustements/reinforcements in the chassis, trasmission, differential, exhaust, suspensions, fuel injection, engine and refrigeration, and by installing the 16V Vitara's ventilated disc front breaks, with the original rear drum breaks, the customized Vitara reaches a total of 160HP. 
Minimizing the weight of the vehicle by removing also 30kg of the original electrical system and the heavy customisation, the Vitara won 3 italian CIFV Championships by doing some absolutes, too.

Skopje 2012 - Delcevo Rally

    JapanServis Rally Team is ready to start a new adventure with the 33rd International Rally & Rally Cross with Terrain Vehicles in Delcevo organized by AMC Jeep Rally Sport Skopje and AMD Bregalnica Berovo. We are partecipating in this event with a new bi-turbo prototype vehicle that was disembarked early this morning at the Port of Durres, Albania.

Our team will be rapresented in this event by our Pilot Klodian Voko. For those who don't know him, he is the winner of the Rally Albania Voskopoja Loop Circuit of this June, whit his Toyota Land Cruiser. The Chief Engineer of the Team will be our Head Engineer at JapanServis Albania, Almir Dervishaj.

The 33rd International Rally & Rally Cross with Terrain Vehicles in Delcevo will start Saturday, September 8th 2012 at 12:00 CET. The hight resolution Event Map is available here.
